The event is open to everyone, even non-members, so if you enjoyed these activities and want some more, do put in an application over at ff_classchange to join a team and get some more of this action XD

Overview

Remember Bingo? :D? Okay, most of the newer members won't. And the older members will be going, but wait, you're not Tako! Um. I decided to do Bingo this time in case Tako was busy! Because we didn't have one at all this game around...

Anyway, this is a fairly basic game. I've listed a whole bunch of FF abilities, and you can submit a bingo "card" of 10 things from the list. Submissions will be open for the first week of the festival. After that, I'll start calling out names of abilities, 15 per day to start, with increasing amounts closer to the end of the week if bingos still haven't been called.

If all 10 abilities on your list are called, you can call bingo for bonus points. Calling bingo on the same day counts as the same-ranked prize, not just whoever called earlier. So hopefully this will eliminate some of the timezone problems.

If you've still somehow missed the entire period, you'll get 15 points if you would have been able to call bingo.

A staple of the Final Fantasy franchise since FFIII, summons are some of the most recognizable creatures in the series. While very few have a major role in the story they often help immensely in battle by dealing immense damage to your enemy, casting status effects to help you gain the advantage, or by healing your wounds and bringing the party back into the fight.

Which brings us to the point of this booth: have you ever wondered what your summon would be? We're here to help you find out!

Everything you need to know is under this cut!Collapse )

Tragedy strikes and Kefka lies dead upon the floor! Okay, maybe it's not too much of a tragedy. The heroes were gunning for him anyway, but the true tragedy is in the storyline. It's always a bummer when your main antagonist dies half-way through the story; they'll have to fill in the last half of the game with slashy fanservice! Okay, maybe that wouldn't be too bad either.

But the question is, who takes the credit for slaying such a foe?Collapse )

I draw way too much for my own good. Mostly of FF characters wearing stupid things. So I decided to go for a change of pace and let YOU decide WHO I should draw and WHAT they should be wearing.

Ergo 'Toffee's FF Cosplay Booth Of Terror (mwahahahaha!)'

I couldn't miss the chance to practice my drawing!Collapse )

Hi everyone! Remember the days when the only sounds that came from your FF games were the glorious soundtrack of Uematsu and a bunch of SFXs? Well with the advance of technology for gaming consoles that's no longer a reality - these days the denizens of the FF universe can't shut up (unless you choose to mute them) thanks to voice acting!

But here's the fun thing... Most of the time SE will hire prolific voice actors to portray their characters - voice actors you might recognize from another game you played or perhaps an anime series you watch. (Apparently in America you even get Kain Highwind advertising pistachios or Sephiroth trying to sell you a Toyota Prius!) Sometimes SE even ends up providing roles that put newcomer voice actors on the road to stardom such as in the case of motion-capture actor turned voice actor Masakazu Morita who became a big name seiyuu after his role as Tidus in FFX. In reverse, the games also have pulled in some very impressive names on both the Japanese and English sides when it came to voicing some of their characters. Who can forget Billy Zane's epic scenery chewing as Ansem in Kingdom Hearts for example?

Of course prolific voices makes for excellent crack when you're listening to something and can't help but notice "HEY! WAKKA'S BENDER!" and become unable to take that character seriously because you can't help associating them with whoever it is their VA plays in FF.

As such I've devised this little game featuring a whole load of other work FF VAs have done with clues as to which character it is they play in the series. Even if you have no clue about voice acting or even heard most voiced FFs it doesn't matter- the clues are designed specifically so that the only thing you need to win is a good head on your shoulders.

What a...beautiful voice...Collapse )

Hello folks!

The event is wrapping up today, with some minor exceptions and changes.

1. The raffle drawing will be on Skype in about 10-15 minutes from now. Five of us (four different teams) are already online, but feel free to join in if you'd like! Just PM me for my Skype handle if you need it :)

2. Events finishing tonight are:3. Events that will be extended for one week (up to 21 Jan) are as follows:
  • The Pass the Parcel game has been moving very slowly, and as such will be extended by one week. Please feel free to grab the parcel and ask for a dare even if the previous person has not posted yet; the game will move too slowly otherwise. Thanks!
  • Santa's Missing Presents will continue for one or two more rounds until the end of next week; the game is currently in-between updates. Do check back in a day or two! :)
  • The deadline for Final Fantasy Bingo is tonight. Applications close tonight; your forms will be out within a day. There are some threads in which Bingo has not been reached; these have until the 21st to be completed.
I hope the festival has been fun thus far!

Welcome to ff_land's second event, FF_Land Celebrates The Holidays!

Like our first event held in August, the Garden Festival, this festival is public, showcasing some of the things we do over at FF_LAND; mainly minigames and stamping, revolving around the world of Final Fantasy. We do have contests as well but none of these will be done for this event -- we might have a mini-contest in store for you next round, though! ^_~

Hi again, all! There's a gil exchange below if you just want to gift gil to someone, but for those of you who are more fanworks-oriented or feel like making fanworks for someone (or someones), we're hosting Paired Gifting in ff_eventsquare!

The first round of sign-ups is now OVER. Any subsequent sign-ups will be considered under the second round!

ETA: Messages sent! All of you should have received details of who your gift exchange partners are. Check your suspicious messages folder Just In Case; if you still haven't received it, drop a comment letting me know. Do contact each other; collaborations are allowed if that's what you think would be an awesome way of exchanging gifts.

Daughter of ETA: Since the bonus for this gift exchange is 25% instead of the 10% you'd get from shops, please remember to state that it's for the gift exchange when you post it on moogle_workshop!
